2025...Was Humbling
The Snake asked me to shed. My body took that literally.
It’s a year I would like a refund on.
2/10. Do not recommend.
And I think I’m still there… Stuck in parts of 2025, eagerly awaiting the lunar year to bring change. Some seismic shift that will move us all into action.
I remember sending an email in December 2024 about the year ahead with so much hope:
“2025 is an important year for growth, change and authenticity.
It’s a 9 year (2+0+2+5)… Within numerology, nine is considered a transformative and altruistic number that urges us to give back. It represents growth and evolution, and a spiritual and selfless attitude, giving us the power to turn past experiences into life lessons and wisdom. 9 is also associated with September (the ninth month of the year) and the sign of Virgo (that’s me!). In tarot, the major arcana card that aligns with the number nine is The Hermit. The Hermit denotes reflection, enlightenment, and inner guidance towards personal fulfillment.
This is also the year of the Snake. Where we are asked to let go of the old (shed the dead), embrace the wild unknown and step into a more authentic version of ourselves. The Snake represents wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, intuition and creativity. Snakes are also associated with good luck, prosperity, fertility and longevity.
Astrologically, the stars show us this is a year of monumental transformation, allowing us to enter a brighter, freer and more communal future.”
My health was the star and main character of 2025. And when I think about “health” it’s all encompassing. Mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. It was all tested.
Mentally, I was stronger than I gave myself credit for. New boundaries were established and even as I isolated myself from much of what the world was throwing at me, I always felt steadfast, innovative and in-tuned strategically.
I was also brave. I embraced saying the things no one else was saying. I launched new offerings, workshops, and even a brand (!), knowing innately these were true to who I am and the person I ultimately want to be. I cared less about what others thought and more about how my actions made me feel. I was vulnerable and shared truths about myself that I had kept hidden in the past.
I wasn’t stagnant. I leapt.
Emotionally, I was overwhelmed. The year started with Los Angeles burning down. And to be honest, a year later I’m still processing this. A 5th generation California and born and raised Angeleno, the impact these fires had on my friends, family and community are still felt and being processed. When the weather gets warm and the winds kick up the PTSD is real and that’s something many of us are going to have to continue to work through and others are going to have to have grace around.
Empathically, I struggled with what energy was mine and what was everyone else’s. There were so many moments where I wanted to cry and those tears only came with other people’s feelings. I worked on my energy returns, but when there is SO much energy coming at you sometimes there’s nothing more to do than feel it all and let it eventually pass.
Physically, I was a mess. A medical mystery most of my life, I spent 11 months out of the year struggling with new and unidentified ailments. Most things didn’t incapacitate me, but every system of my being was challenged. From migraines to ovarian cysts to an infection that wreaked havoc on most of my body, I never felt good. Honestly, I still don’t. I just have to believe this was just another form of shedding. A universal test where I am challenged to meet important moments in life in my current state. And, for the most part, I did.
Spiritually, I truly evolved. With every reading, every workshop and every connection, I became more aligned energetically. Even when my body was struggling, I could still channel. Still hold space. Still show up for the people who trusted me with their guides, healing and deepest questions. I’ve never been more proud of this growth and what I know is coming next. And to everyone who did a reading with me in 2025—thank you for your trust and collaboration. I hope you continue to heal and grow from those sessions too.
Why am I writing this all right now?
I launched Chief Spiritual Officer in September 2025—at a moment where I felt such incredible momentum, but also well into what would become one of the most humbling years of my life.
I didn’t have it all figured out. I hadn’t (and haven’t) transcended suffering or reached some illustrious and unrealistic enlightened state. But at the time, I intuitively felt that moment was right. I needed it and the people around me did too. I was living a life where the corporate world and the spiritual world were intermingling and on the precipice of something big.
And then I went quiet.
Not strategically. Not intentionally. But because the end of 2025 asked more of me than I had to give while also trying to build a public brand about living intentionally with purpose.
I kept showing up for my clients, my friends and family, and on LinkedIn when I knew I needed to. But I didn’t have the capacity to show up everywhere, for everyone. And right now, I still don’t. And maybe this is one of those universal lessons I was meant to learn (I am very over learning this lesson).
I didn’t have the clarity or energy to show up here.
I couldn’t write about integration when I was barely integrated myself. I couldn’t post about leading with soul when my body and what felt like my spirit was falling apart and the world around me was spiraling and I was just trying to survive the day.
So I did what I tell every single one of my clients to do: I honored my timing. I chose rest over performance. And I put the “health” oxygen mask on myself first.
And now I’m back. Not because 2026 has magically delivered that seismic shift the lunar year promised (TBD in February!). But because this—showing up imperfectly, honestly, still-figuring-it-out—is what I believe being your own Chief Spiritual Officer actually looks like. It’s using all the tools to show up as best you can, when you can.
Maybe 2025 was exactly the 9 year I needed—not the wisdom I expected, but the humbling that comes before real transformation. The Snake asked me to shed, and apparently my body took that very literally.
I have a few stories I want to share with you before the lunar year is over. Stories about connection, about the messages that wouldn’t stop coming, about what it means to trust your intuition when everything else feels uncertain. Maybe they will symbolize more shedding, or maybe I just need them out in the world to leave them behind before a new cycle begins.
So, now I pose this question to you that I’ve been thinking about for the last few weeks.
What does it mean to be your own Chief Spiritual Officer when everything—including your body—is asking you to surrender?
Comment away… I read them all. And thank you for being on this journey with me. It gives me a lot of comfort knowing we’re all in this together.
